OPI Gwen Stefani collection – English version

Hi guys and welcome to my blog, L’Esteta Risponde.

If you’re wondering, I’m an Italian beauty blogger and from now on I’ll start translating in English the posts about the most popular beauty products worldwide.

So please forgive me if my English is not perfect, I’m doing my best! Feel free to correct me if I made some mistakes.

I’d like to know the opinion not only of the italian girls but also the one of the girls from other countries, because I think the “debate” would result more interesting.

Let’s start with a post about a new OPI collection, the Gwen Stefani for OPI!

As I write in my Italian version, probably this amazing collection will not be available in Italy, or maybe it will be much later than in the rest of the world.

It’s very sad, I know.

Don’t ask me why, but in my country it’s very hard – sometimes impossible – to find most of the best collections, producs and brands, and I really don’t know why.

Maybe it’s a marketing strategy, but I think it’s a strange one!

Anyway, as you know, Gwen Stefani is a famous singer, who started her career in the No Doubt band and later became a solo.

I prefer her solo career, because I loved so much the Japaneese atmosphere she created in her videos with the Harajuku girls!

Gwen Stefani for OPI - bannerWith this collection, OPI want to celebrate her lifestyle and spread  her energy through the power of colors.

With 7 great looking shades, OPI represents perfectly the Gwen’s explosive personality, and even the names of the colors are focused on the most important aspects of her career and music.

I love so much OPI shades names: they are simply gorgeous, aren’t they?

Let’s have a deeper look to the collection!

Gwen Stefani for OPI - shades As I saw also for other brads, the trend of 2014 is to put several finishes into the same collection.

Creamy, glossy, satin, sugar, metallic, all together. And it happens also in the Gwen Stefani for OPI.

From left to right in the image above:

– Over & Over A-Gwen, a pure, creamy red.

This is a special edition, with a Gwen’s signature on the top of the bottle. It comes in a special box, including Swarovski elements, studs and crystals for special Gwen-like nail arts.

Over & Over A-Gwen - OPI

– In True Stefani Fashion. This is a super-glitter top coat. You can use this nail polish also on it’s own, because it’s full of silver glitter!

– Push and shove. This nail polish reminds me the tinfoil!

It’s more than a mirror effect. It comes with its special base coat Lay Down that Base and I’ve heard that without this specific base the application might be a disaster!

Moreover, please note it’s not a long lasting color, as reported also on the package.

– Love.Angel.Music.Baby., it is a gold satin.

As for In true Stefani Fashion, this color can also be used as a special top coat.

– 4 in the Morning. It is a black satin.

– Hey baby it is a gorgeous shocking pink, with a glossy and creamy finish.

– I sing in color: it’s very hard to define this color.

Looking at the images reported in the OPI website, it looks like a dark plum. Nevertheless, from the other swatches you can find online, it seems more brownish, similar to coffee or chocolate.

As for Hey baby, even this shade has a creme gloss finish.

That’s all for this collection, more or less!

If anybody from different countries had the chance of trying these nail polishes, and she wants to share her opinion with us (or, why not? some pictures), please leave a comment below or send me an email to: estetarisponde@gmail.com!

I hope you have enjoyed this post. I’m looking forward to read your comments!
